GRACE ASSEMBLY OF GOD STORY

Grace Assembly of God is a passionate community of believers that is making an impact in the Indianapolis metropolitan area and around the world through its heart for missions. Grace is well established with strong pastoral and lay leadership teams and after a major site remodeling in 2015, the beautiful campus and facility offers increased opportunities for ministry. The weekend experience at Grace Assembly is central, filled with authentic worship and strong Bible teaching.

In 1997, Pastor Wayne Murray became the Lead Pastor of Grace with just a handful of people attending at that time. Through his faithful leadership, Grace is now one of the largest and most influential churches in the community. Pastor Wayne brings a relational and practical teaching style that offers a healthy balance of grace and truth which resonates within the community. Grace is experiencing a season of renewed momentum as they offer updated ministry and activities for children, Jr. High and High School students, Young Adults, and numerous discipleship opportunities for adults through Small Groups. They also provide the largest Food Pantry in the area that serves over 17,000 families each year. They also host the largest Celebrate Recovery Program in the state of Indiana. There are approximately 1,400 people who come through their doors to worship each week.

A few years after Grace moved into their new 1,200 seat auditorium, they made the shift to the “Grow Strategy” influenced by Church of the Highlands. Grace is a groups-based church that believes in the power of community. Groups meet both in homes and in the community and serve as a way to encourage one another and help people to grow in relationship with Christ and each other. Groups also serve in the community together.

It’s said around Grace Assembly that “saved people serve people.” This is one of their core values and they not only believe it, but they also live it out with a passion to see their city connect to God and each other.

They have seen God do amazing things through Grace to change lives in their community and around the world. God continues to strengthen and build the church and use the body of believers to bring the good news of the Gospel to people who need Jesus! They believe that people will come to find their God-given potential by knowing God, finding freedom, discovering their purpose, and making a difference.

GREENWOOD, INDIANA

One of the first things you’ll notice as you make your way through Greenwood: Families.

You’ll see a family of four riding bikes along the city’s trail system, or a mom and dad parking a van full of children at Freedom Springs Aquatic Center. Families are everywhere in Greenwood, and it shouldn’t come as a surprise. We offer a lower cost of living compared to similar cities surrounding Indianapolis. Add to that a much shorter commute to downtown Indy, and you can see why so many families choose Greenwood.

Our community offers three high-performing school districts – Greenwood Community, Center Grove and Clark-Pleasant – all possessing a rich academic history. Some of the best universities in the country. IUPUI and Butler University are just a short, 30-minute drive, while Indiana University is less than an hour south and Purdue University is only an hour and a half to the northwest.

Greenwood families and young professionals enjoy a variety of dining options, including a number of local downtown favorites, all your nationally known staples.
And in addition to all of the wonderful things Greenwood can offer, the city is still just a 15-minute drive to Indianapolis, where families can go for a stroll on the canal, catch an NBA or NFL game, visit the Indianapolis Zoo, or catch a concert on the lawn at White River State Park.
