THE CENTERPOINTE CHURCH STORY

Centerpointe Church, tracing its origins back to 1960, has embarked on a
transformative journey spanning six decades. Initially established in various locations,
the church eventually found its home on Legato Road, where it thrived for 50 years.
Over this period, Centerpointe Church evolved into a beacon of impactful ministry,
touching lives, fostering community impact, and extending its reach globally through
dedicated missions.
In 2011, a new chapter unfolded under the leadership of Pastor Keith Edwards, who
spearheaded the Ready the House Campaign. This initiative resulted in a significant
remodel of the Legato Road building, attracting numerous new families, and
embracing intentional cultural inclusion, shaping the church’s DNA with diversity.
2015 marked a crucial juncture for the church’s leadership, prompting a profound
decision on whether to build on the existing property or embark on a new journey
by selling and relocating. After a year of devoted fasting and prayer, it became clear
that the divine path led to selling the Legato Road property. As 2020 began, the
building on Legato Road was sold and the church moved temporarily into a theatre.
Through many transitions and a global pandemic, the church held steady to its
values of loving God, loving people, and serving the world. The people rallied
together and continued to pray, grow in God’s Word, reach out through community
service outreaches, care for one another, worship together, and serve missions
through generous giving.
In December of 2022, the Lord led CP church to purchase two buildings in Chantilly,
VA with four acres, debt-free. The church moved into remodeling this new campus.
While the church awaits permits to complete the remodeling of the new church
building, the already completed Centerpointe Academy stands as a testament to
progress and commitment to education. There is a growing expectancy and
excitement over what God has in store as the church steps out in faith and embarks
on a new season in a new community. Centerpointe Church’s prayer is to be a Spirit-
powered community of disciples following Jesus, fulfilling His mission.
