Overview:

The Senior Accountant position is a leadership role for the technical accounting process. This position is responsible for the accurate recording of financial transactions, reconciliations, oversight of accounts payable invoicing, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. They will prepare financial statements and validate the accuracy of those statements. They are charged with the responsibility of precise execution and administration of the ministry’s financial position by general accounting standards and the core values of Transformation Church.

THE TRANSFORMATION CHURCH STORY

Pastors Michael and Natalie Todd are the Lead Pastors of Transformation Church based in Tulsa, OK since February 2015. They were entrusted with Transformation Church from the founding pastor, Bishop Gary McIntosh, after 15 years of operation. Their personal philosophy and driving passion is re-presenting God to the lost and found for transformation in Christ. They aspire to reach their community, city and world with the gospel presented in a relevant and progressive way. They’ve been married since 2010 and live in Tulsa with four beautiful children.

JOB SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

HAND: Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide technical accounting oversight
  • Manage one to two Accounts Payable Specialists; reviewing invoice coding and vendor payment distribution
  • Reconcile assigned assets and liability accounts including but not limited to cash accounts, payroll liabilities, A/R accounts, and clearing accounts
  • Manage the accounting system software (Financial Edge) users and database
  • Maintain Financial Edge chart of accounts and associated transaction codes
  • Maintain daily cash flow reconciliation
  • Maintain inter-company receivables
  • Maintain temporarily restricted funds schedule
  • Maintain depreciation schedule
  • Identify reconciliation issues, resolving them timely and accurately
  • Prepare, review, and validate detailed journal entries and then post entries to the GL
  • Manage and review trial balance
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements
  • Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures
  • Actively review and advise on accounting processes and improvements
  • Additional duties as assigned

HEAD: Knowledge & Training

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Previous management experience

  • Capable of learning required software platforms used by the church
